M.O.T
What is the M.O.T?
The M.O.T test is an annual inspection for vehicles over three years old, designed to check their safety, roadworthiness, and emissions. It’s a legal requirement in the UK, and driving without a valid M.O.T can result in fines and points on your driving license.
Why is the M.O.T Important?
Safety Assurance: The M.O.T test checks critical components like brakes, lights, tires, and steering to ensure your vehicle is safe to drive.
Environmental Protection: The test assesses exhaust emissions to help reduce air pollution. Vehicles must meet specific emission standards.
Legal Compliance: A valid M.O.T certificate is required to drive your vehicle legally on public roads.
What Happens If You Fail?
If your vehicle fails the M.O.T, you’ll receive a list of the faults that need fixing. You can either repair the issues yourself or have a garage handle them. Once the repairs are completed, you can retake the test.
